Forth is a non-profit organization based in Portland whose mission is to advance electric, shared, and smart mobility. They bring clean transportation options to communities; provide electric mobility education to the public; advocate for policy that supports electric car drivers; and support industry development.
In 2017 they opened the Go Forth Electric Showcase. Located in downtown Portland, the Showcase is the place to get all of your questions answered about electric cars, bikes, and other electric vehicles, plus how and where to charge. They’re not selling anything—just education! Showcase visitors can take their fleet of electric and plug-in hybrid cars for test drives, try out charging equipment, and chat with Forth staff about what it means to switch to an electric car.
You can just walk in, or schedule a test drive on their website. Their fleet of vehicles includes a 2019 Nissan Leaf, 2018 BMW i3 REX, 2019 Prius Prime, 2017 Forth CMAX Energi, 2017 Chevy Bolt, 2017 Chevy Volt, 2017 Honda Clarity Electric, and 2014 Nissan Leaf S. Forth even has a Drive Finder tool to help find the perfect car for you! They can also teach you about state and federal rebates and tax credits and explore the advantages of buying a new or used electric car.
Forth staff are a great resource to talk about which models will be coming out soon with new features and increased ranges. When you are ready to go to the dealership, they can help you out with recommendations and make sure you feel confident going in! They understand that people have questions about what it takes to switch to electric. That’s why they’re around!
The Go Forth Electric Showcase is on the corner of SW 1st and Taylor in downtown Portland.
