Summer has finally arrived after a brutally long and horrendous winter. The 'Snowpocalypse' seems like so long ago but it's only been a matter of months. With that said, as you probably know, May is Bike Month here at Chinook Book so the next week or so we're going to be passing along our knowledge of the best places to pump those pedals!
WHAT IS IT?
Bike next to the impressive roaring waters of the Columbia (ok so they’re a little more timid out here) as you power through a flat 17-mile stretch of asphalt beside Marine Drive. Watch as the houseboats and sailboats calmly wobble across the waves without a care in the world. The seagulls and marine life give a coastal vibe to the area. After a long bike ride along the marina, head over to Salty’s on the Columbia Seafood Grill for a hearty meal and an unrivaled view of the river below (if you’re on the second floor). If you’re really feeling adventurous, Salty’s offers a luxurious all-you-can-eat buffet on the weekend, complete with bottomless mimosas ;)
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT
A flat 17-mile strip along the Columbia River. You will have a chance to bike by some awesome houseboats, marinas and Columbia River wildlife.
