The rain has stopped (finally) and the sun is shining, which means it's time to dust off those bikes and go exploring! Unless you've already been doing that and in that case keep doing you. May is Bike Month here at Chinook Book so the next week or so we're going to be passing along our knowledge of the best places to pump those pedals!
WHAT IS IT?
The Golden Gate loop may be an easier trail, but it's still one of my favorites because I love immersive city parks. I shouldn't really call this a loop because there are so many walkways and trails throughout the park that you could really just meander your way through an improvised route if you wanted to. Plant lover? Stop by the Conservatory of Flowers and the Strybing Botanical Garden. Fine arts fiend? Swing by the de Young Museum. Music nut? Check out Amoeba Music right outside the park on Haight Street. After your casual ride around Golden Gate Park, and maybe a visit to the record store, be sure to visit Easy Breezy Frozen Yogurt on Irving.
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT
A large park in downtown San Francisco that is covered in lush greenery. It's surrounded by the rest of the city so you have everything (including MUNI) at your fingertips when you want to leave. Also plants; who doesn't love gardens??
