Scoop Marketplace Grand Opening

Saturday, June 15th
10am to 7pm
Save the date!
Earlier this spring Scoop Marketplace opened their first store at 151 12th Ave on Capitol Hill, where they are co-located with The Works, a DIY hands-on community. Scoop celebrated their soft launch opening on Earth Day, about six weeks ago—since then they have more than quadrupled their bulk offerings and have made significant changes to the layout of their shop space. They think it's time to leave the soft launch phase behind them and celebrate their Grand Opening with their growing community.
Save the date for Saturday, June 15th and join them during their regular shop hours: 10am to 7pm. They are working with some of their favorite local vendors to create a celebration that is both fun and informative. Onda Origins will be onsite doing a coffee tasting and sharing their wealth of knowledge with you, and The Works will have a DIY Terrariums bar set up between 10am and 1pm. Follow along on their facebook event page or visit their website for exciting updates and to view the schedule for the day.
Since Scoop is a package-free store, they encourage customers to bring in their reusable containers to fill with bulk goods. Any clean food container will do: jars, drawstring bags, plastic tubs, lidded bakeware etc. The best way to prepare for your bulk shopping experience is to visit Scoop’s product page and get an idea of what you might need to refill so you know how many containers to bring with you. Be sure to bring a couple of extras in case you want to sample something new. Of course, you can also just fill a shopping bag with a few of your favorite jars and peruse the beautiful shelves while you’re in the shop.
Once you decide what you would like to purchase, simply bring your containers to the scale and they can walk you through the process of filling each one. First, make sure the scale is at zero, then set your empty container on the scale and press the "TARE" button to get it back to zero. Use the scoops, spoons, and funnels to fill the container, then take the product weight shown on the scale and write it directly onto your container using one of the writing utensils. If you need a place to write down the product weight for something in a bag, just ask! Scoop employees are happy to help!
